Choosing a niche to base your blog around is the decision you need to make if you want your blog to be successful.  Most people starting out get this in the wrong order and ask how to blog first.

Blogs come in all different shapes and sizes, your scope is endless.  Whether you are interested in celebrities or seo – the choice is yours.

4 Reasons Why Concentrating On Your Chosen Niche Is Vital

1)  Readability For Your Blogs’ Readers

They deliver what someone searching for that topic is looking for which makes them easier to read.  If your readers are looking for information about weight loss and your blog has topics about weight loss, hair loss and learning to play guitar, it will lack appeal to your reader.  Covering several topics that are not related also does not brand you as an expert and will affect your blogs’ credibility.  Keep different topics on separate dedicated blogs.  Don’t try to please all the readers or you will dilute yourself.

2)  Niche Blogs Are Far Easier To Make Money From.

Many blogs use monetization such as Adsense to earn revenue from their visitors.  These programs will spider your blog in order to choose advertisememts that are relevant to your content.  Spreading too many topics on one blog that are unrelated will mean you could end up with irrelevant advertisements that will not interest anyone to click on.  No click through = no revenue.

3) Search Engines Find Niche Blogs Easier

When your blog is dedicated to one subject or niche the keywords in your content make it far easier for the Google bots torank you as they can asses what your blog is about and it’s relevancy.  Remember, the bots are little robots, not human eyes.  They are not granted with common sense so make their job as easy as possible.

4) Be An Authority With A Niche Blog

Keeping focused on your niche is a fantastic way to brand yourself as an expert.  Niche blogs full of focused content about your niche can soon appear to be authorities on the subject.

By sticking to these points you will find niche blogging far more powerful and profit pulling than by spreading yourself too thinly.

Trying to cover multiple subjects can be really hard work.  The theory behind niche blogs is to work smarter, not harder.

Going by the number of comments on this site it looks like you’re not doing very well with what you preach.

    Why is that?

    Hi Sam,

This is quite a new blog although I registered the URL a while ago now. You can probably see that with the number of posts?

I have concentrated on niche blogging but in other various areas, from my experiences along the way I have decided to put up this blog to try to help people. It’s by no means meant to be a cash pulling machine designed to suck people in :)

I’m sure you’ll have noticed that it isn’t over run with affiliate links?

Blogs take time to mature – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, there’s no magic button and I would never tell anyone there is.

It’s good that you found your way here though only a few hours after posting this particular post. It proves I must be doing something right eh? ;)

    All the best to you,

    Nicola

LOL I fully understand how blogs work. Thanks for the tip. lol

This site was created over a year ago and yet it looks like you don’t have enough traffic to make it onto any of the website traffic lists http://www.quantcast.com/nicolahaxby.com

    Woops!

Why are you giving away a free report that tells people how to get MASSIVE amounts of free traffic when your blog doesn’t get any?

Don’t tell me that you are charging people for “marketing” services?

    Hi Sam,

Like I stated in my previous reply, this URL was registered a while ago however has only just started being used – hence only 6 posts! It’s only been active for just over a week lol. No, I am not charging for information, if you look carefully then you will notice that I have a FREE report which gives tips for creating quality articles to drive traffic.

Again, like I stated previously, I have always concentrated on other niches. I’ve only put this blog up as a way of documenting experiences and as a way of hopefully giving people (less experienced than yourself) some useful tips.

Feel free to share some helpful comments to the readers who are starting to view on subjects like traffic, seo etc
